Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Rootline, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have authority to bind your organisation if registering on its behalf, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Rootline provides a cloud-based incident investigation platform that ingests infrastructure signals and surfaces root cause analysis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hi@rootline.io if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Rootline for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform beyond normal use
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the service or its infrastructure
• Resell or sublicense access to Rootline without written permission

5. Intellectual property

Rootline and its underlying technology, branding, and content are the intellectual property of Rootline, Inc. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights. You retain ownership of all data you provide to the service.

6. Your data

You grant Rootline a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your data for the purpose of providing the service. We will not use your infrastructure data for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how data is handled and retained.

7. Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. You authorise us to charge your payment method on the agreed billing cycle. Refunds are not provided for partial periods, but we will work with you to resolve billing issues. Prices may change with 30 days' notice.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. You can cancel your account from your settings. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted unless otherwise agreed.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Rootline is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any specific purpose beyond what is described in our documentation.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rootline's total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amounts paid by you in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
